Miami-based streaming music startup?Senzari, which aims to take on Pandora by targeting the markets Pandora misses (i.e., the rest of the world), has just closed an additional round of funding totaling $1 million. The round includes investors in both Miami and Silicon Valley, including, notably Dave McClure’s 500 Startups. The company had previously raised $2 million from undisclosed angels in Silicon Valley and Boston (mainly friends and family) and a private equity group in Southern California.

Patrice Wilson is the man who wrote “Friday,” the infamous single that put Rebecca Black on the musical map. And, as you might imagine, he took a lot of flak for penning such a ridiculous anthem.
Now, in response to the feedback, Wilson has come out with his very own music video for some single titled “H.A.P.P.Y.”
“I figured I might as well kind of tell the story of what happened,” says Wilson. “When people see that it’s not getting to you, then maybe they can start liking you. With all the hate, I just wanted to make something that would make people smile.”
That’s what Wilson attempts to do here, kicking off the video by crying in front of a fake news report. Watch, react now and then listen to Black’s new track.

MasterCard’s PayPass is certainly one of the bigger players in the contactless payment scene. But, simply putting a few thousand branded payment terminals in stores across the nation isn’t enough. The next step is expanding that empire, not only in terms of locations and handsets, but by turning the phone into just an accessory in a larger ecosystem. PayPass Wallet Services is a new umbrella product that includes an online payment system, a branded service and an API that allows developers to integrate PayPass into their own proprietary offerings. Simply put, PayPass is no longer a product, but a platform. The service remembers not only credit cards, but shipping addresses and other identifying info that streamlines the shopping process, while the API means that others can build value added offerings around PayPass. There’s even a dedicated Android app.
The company is hoping to have the system ready for a broad roll out by the third quarter of the year. When that time comes, a pile of partners have pledged to support it in various ways. The names on that list should ring at least a few bells: Intel, Barnes & Noble, Newegg, MLB and American Airlines. It all seems pretty impressive (though, we’ll reserve judgement till we get to try it out). Your move, Google.

Verizon’s HomeFusion LTE to the home now available nationwide
Verizon is trying to put the final nail in the coffin of its DSL service. Of course, that’s still a long way off but, for those outside of reach of its FiOS tentacles, Big Red is pushing HomeFusion. The LTE to the home solution, which started rolling out in early March, is now available nationwide… provided your definition of “nationwide” jibes with Verizon’s. Still, with a claimed two-thirds of the US population covered by 230 distinct 4G markets, VZW is hoping to expand its residential broadband footprint without running those costly and ugly wires. The five to 12 Mbps down, and two to five Mbps up speeds aren’t going to beat a fiber to the home connection, but it should run circles around your average DSL line. One thing it wont do, though, is save you money. With plans starting at $60 a month for 10GB of data and climbing to $120 for 30GB (not to mention the $10 per GB overage fees) HomeFusion isn’t exactly a bargain.
